This summer, the U.K.’s iconic Glastonbury Festival will witness a historic moment as SEVENTEEN becomes the first K-pop act to grace the festival’s main stage. Joining a stellar lineup including Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, and Shania Twain, the group is geared up to captivate audiences with their electrifying performance.
Scheduled for June 26-30, 2024, at the Eavis’ Worthy Farm in Pilton, south-west England, Glastonbury Festival will roll out an eclectic mix of talents from various genres. SEVENTEEN’s inclusion alongside renowned artists like Avril Lavigne, Cyndi Lauper, and Camila Cabello underscores the festival’s commitment to diverse musical experiences.
With over 210,000 attendees anticipated, Glastonbury Festival has already sold out, underscoring the immense anticipation for this groundbreaking event. SEVENTEEN’s upcoming performance follows the trailblazing success of Blackpink, who made history in 2023 as the first K-pop band to headline a U.K. festival, drawing a crowd of 65,000 at London’s BST Hyde Park.
In addition to their U.K. debut, SEVENTEEN is poised to headline Lollapalooza Berlin, marking another milestone for K-pop. The festival, set for September 7-8 at Olympiastadion and Olympiapark in Berlin, promises an impressive lineup including Sam Smith, Martin Garrix, Burna Boy, The Chainsmokers, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Shirin David, and CRO.
These performances hold special significance as they come in the wake of SEVENTEEN’s canceled European tour in 2020 due to the pandemic. The group’s remarkable success in 2023, with 16 million combined album units sold worldwide, reinforces their status as a powerhouse in the music industry.
